ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY

ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive technique where small incisions are made at the site of the surgery. One incision is for the arthroscope, a small flexible tube that allows the surgeon to see inside the joint, and the other incision is gives access for the surgical instruments. Compared to the traditional open surgical procedure this technique involves less trauma to the muscles which allows for better joint stability and quicker, less painful recovery.

Arthroscopic surgery is often, though not always, an available alternative to tradtional open surgical techniques. Surgical options depend on each patient’s unique condition and needs.

Orthopedic Outpatient Surgery

Our goal is to have patients comfortable after surgery and then discharged later the same day to continue recovering in the comfort of their own home.  The key to a quick recovery time is the use of minimally invasive and the advancement in anesthesia and pain management techniques.

The benefits of outpatient surgery is cost, scheduling and comfort.  With outpatient surgery you are able to keep your expenses down considerably.  Patients have learned that an outpatient procedure provides significant cost savings compared to other options.

Scheduling an outpatient surgery is more convenient for patients because the surgery procedure and discharge happen in the same day.  Patients are discharged to continue their recovery from the comfort of their own home.
